Il Bacucco
Roccastrada
In our immediate or more distant vicinity you will find the most diverse places and attractions depending on your interests. If you are looking for history or culture, you may want to visit the Etruscan excavations in Vetulonia (with a museum), Populonia and Roselle. Should you prefer thermal springs, sea and nature, we recommend the hot sulfur springs in Petriolo or Saturnia or you can take a swim in the Mediterranean at Marina di Grosseto, Castiglione della Pescaia or Punta Ala. For extended walks in untouched nature, you might chose the “Parco dell’Uccellina” (the nature park of Maremma) or the Monte Amiata where it is about 10 degrees cooler in the summer. Well worth seeing is the peninsula Monte Argentario with the coastal towns Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano. From there you can take the ferry to the islands Isola del Giglio and Giannutri. For your culinary pleasure you will find excellent restaurants close by, offering local specialities, as well as pizzerias.
